The Customer
Pelagos is a Turkish company already existing in the Turkish market for over 25 years. They are in TOP 3 Turkish distributors and suppliers of the pet sortiment. As they expanded to other countries in Europe and the Middle East, now came the right time for the Czech and Slovak markets as well!
The Challenge
On the Czech and Slovak markets are already operating many companies with pet sortiment. Either distributor, wholesalers, producers, and retailers. The demand for cat and dog food is very fulfilling on the Czech market, so we found the wholesaler that needs to supply his bird feed necessities. We challenged the first problem. Most of them were actually not interested in cooperation with Turkish producers or didn’t want to extend their portfolio. Yeye met with Pelagos representatives in May 2016 at PET Fair in Nuremberg. Shared business ideas and agreed on conditions and following steps. What is needed to find the right partner for Pelagos. Ideally, wholesalers with the same structure, ideology, and volume as Pelagos is a long-term partnership. Yeye did the marketing research and found a couple of wholesalers. We found more than 30 companies that suit our needs. Started to contact all of them via e-mails and phone calls.
The Solution
During that time of reaching up to the right partner who is interested in the long-term partnership, we prepared promotional materials necessary for the presentation Pelagos brand on Czech and Slovak markets. A few weeks later we have found the right partner – tailor-made for our Turkish client. We met face to face and discuss all possibilities of cooperation.
The Result
Both sides agreed on the roadmap and conditions for a long-term partnership. The first samples from Turkey have been ordered, we transferred that through our logistic partner and keeping our partnership running. Finally, representatives from both companies could meet at CIPS PET Fair in China face to face. Yeye succeeds in the search for the right partner for a Turkish client, negotiated conditions for a long-term run, and enabled face-to-face meetings. After the following negotiation, we came up with other cooperation possibilities as well. Yeye created an umbrella to keep the business running smoothly under control with an individual, company, and language understanding.
